Born and raised in Boston, MA, Alexa was first introduced to the restaurant industry at a young age. Knowing that this was her passion, she pursued an education at both Newton Country Day School and Winchester High School before attending business school at the Isenberg School of Management at UMASS Amherst. Proficient in Italian and Spanish, and having learned the ins and outs of working in a kitchen and restaurant through family owned businesses, Alexa decided to round out her hospitality experience with a concentration in Club Management and by joining the Club Managers Association of America.
Upon graduation, she was then given the opportunity to join the opening team of the Hopkinton Country Club, Hopkinton, MA, where she was responsible for directing all aspects of the private club’s food and beverage outlets. Over-seeing golf tournaments, social events and all private banquet outlets, she was a key player in the development of the clubs dining needs from its inception.
Alexa’s strong knowledge and understanding of the hospitality industry next led her to accepting a position in Boston within the XV Beacon Hotel. She was recruited by Executive Chef Jamie Mammano to oversee the private dining sales for The Federalist and XV Beacon Hotel’s Wine Cellar & Private Parlor Suites, growing that sector of the business to over $1.2 million in sales within the first two years.
When Mooo… opened, the new fine-dining steakhouse concept within XV Beacon Hotel in August of 2007, Alexa was then invited by Chef/Owner Jamie Mammano and The Columbus Hospitality Group to become the General Manager.
In her spare time, she enjoys weekends at her home in Nantucket and travelling overseas with her husband.
